When I think of my brother and close my eyes, I mostly see him angry, mouth moving as inexorably as an oncoming train, hands gesticulating like a conductor with an orchestra. And inevitably, I see my parents, sometimes grieved, sometimes aggrieved – depending on the topic of the conversation, it is often one or the other.   
When I think of myself and close my eyes, I mostly see myself annoyed or irritated, cruel words sharp enough to cause little paper cuts of pain all over my audience’s fingers, not because the words are directed towards them but because they are heartless. I A House of One's Own

Smooth ball rounding away from me  Unadorned – untainted – by further frippery  Of diamond bezels, golden rings –  
I spread my arms to the uncaring heavens  And dare to look at the cold and lonely stars  Meeting their indifferent gaze with defiance,  Yet bowing before their remote majesty.  Ignore the impossibility of standing on the moon;  Heed not the incongruity of this storybook setting –   Illumination

TransfigurationA technological whirlwind of blinking lights  And cacophonic symphonies that  Somehow reek of meaninglessness  Yet nonetheless remain curiously dead  To smell and taste and touch  A maelstrom of images  
Ranging from the absurd to the grotesque –  
A reflection of our malicious pranks  And even more malevolent natures  A sense of the perverted and the inherently cruel  Acting of forbidden, twisted, guilt-ridden knowledge.  A fake world of plastic surgeries  And artificially enhanced genitalia  And still within this senseless reality  We manage to laugh at others   Transfiguration
